Newtown Youth and Family Services

Adolescent Therapy Group

The adolescent therapy group teaches teenage girls how to manage emotions, cope with stressful situations and improve self-esteem in a supportive environment along with peers experiencing the same stressors. For adolescent girls, there are difficult situations that occur daily like bullying, peer pressure, substance use, conflict with friends, social media influences, body shaming, academic stressors and family conflict. This group will use cognitive behavior strategies to encourage growth in self-esteem and positive self-image.
