Newtown Youth and Family Services

Internship Opportunities

NYFS provides outpatient internship opportunities for students in their second year of a master’s degree program in social work or related field (PC, MSW, MFT).

The primary function of the Clinical Intern position is to provide face-to-face therapy to individuals (children, adolescents and adults), couples, groups and families who come to the NYFS with mental health and family-related concerns under the supervision of a Licensed Clinician. Interns will carry a selected range of cases with an emphasis on youth/adolescents.

Interns will follow all professional and agency standards, policies and procedures, demonstrate confidentially, exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to counseling and therapeutic services.

Hours vary based on school requirements and agency needs.
