Part-Time Lead Mentor for Adult Social Group (18+)

The Lead Mentor would run the Social Group for Adults (ages 18+) that are either on the Autism Spectrum or have other social difficulties. They would be in charge of the intakes/ registration assessments of the participants and communicating with participants on activities. They Lead Mentor must have his/her own transportation to and from each location and will need to arrive early prior to the start time of the group. The Lead Mentor will be responsible for taking attendance at the beginning of group, help engage peers with one another, redirect or enforce social skills, settle minor conflicts and create opportunities to play. Additionally, meet with the mentors prior to each group for instruction specific to that group’s activity, as well as at the end of each group for evaluation of that particular program. Also be in charge of group surveys and paperwork regarding the groups and should follow all professional and agency standards, policies, and procedures, and provide all services in a confidential manner sensitive to the individual’s special needs and circumstances.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services and/or related field.
  • Must have 2-4 years' experience working with adults on the Autism Spectrum and other difficulties. Such as a Certified ABA. 
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and assertive. 

Hours are part-time, 6 hours per month (every other Tuesday, 2x a month).
