Student Assistance Counseling

In partnership with the Newtown Board of Education since 2007, NYFS has a Student Assistance Counselor located at Newtown High School and Newtown Middle School. This Licensed Professional Counselor is available to talk with students on an informal, drop-in basis and has a focus of substance use prevention.

This counselor is an active member of the Newtown Prevention Partnership and also serves as a consultant and resource to staff at both schools in implementing prevention services and programs.
